I was born on 31st May 1970 in Balemla village of Suryapet Mandal and District. I am the youngest child of Dr. Patel Somi Reddy and Smt. Lalitha. I got married to Lavanya Patel. Lavanya is also active in politics. We have two lovely daughters, Meghana and Manvi.
Dr. Patel Somi Reddy is a doctor by profession and is a passionate farmer. Smt. Lalitha, my mother is a compassionate woman who has looked up by village women for advice and support.
Patel Sridhar Reddy NRI, my elder brother, is a technologist by profession and a socialist and philanthropist who started SPREAD INDIA, an NGO conceived to provide for the Educational needs for orphans and children from down trodden and under privileged sections of Society.
I have been a bright student from the beginning, joined Engineering opted for Mechanical Engineering as my Stream in Osmania University.
I was constantly driven by the urge to serve the people around me and strive to improve quality of living. I was particularly influenced by socio-political activities in my village which was famous for hosting Telangana Armed Struggle against Rajakars of Nizam Government. The sacrifices made by village elders and struggle of people in my village for a social cause left a lasting impression and I decided to stay back in India foregoing opportunities to settle abroad along with my classmates and friends.
The Telangana armed struggle can be termed as an unforgettable moment in the history of India. The Telangana Struggle took place between 1946-1951 under the leadership of the communists against the seventh Nizam Nawad Mir Usman Ali Khan. Four and half thousand people of Telangana lost their lives in the struggle.
The Telangana region was an integral part of the Hyderabad State and was under the rule of Asaf Jahi without any connection with the British rule. Nizam Hali Sikka, India Rupee The two are different.
Telangana Andhra Mahasabha and the Communist Party of India organized this struggle. In the villages of the Telangana region, they fought with the slogan of eradicating the vettichakiri system and the tiller should have land. They moved against landlords, Deshmukh, jagirdars and Deshpande. Farmers, laborers, and tenants were attracted to the communist sentiments by the mention of legal rent for tenants, increase of wage rates for agricultural laborers, cancellation of old loans, and protection of small farmers’ crops from landlords
In 1948, the All-India Communist Party Mahasabha in Calcutta concluded that “the Union Government has no power to compel the annexation of the States”. The Nizam’s government lifted the warrants against five other Communist leaders, including Makhdoom Mohiuddin. The ban on the Communist Party was lifted. Raja Bahadur Gaur said that it is the policy of the party Announced. Rajakars, Deshkukhs, Zamindars and Doras led by Qasim Ravzi fell upon the villages and created various anarchies. As a result, there was a change in the attitude of the communists from that day.
Rajakars were driven away by Balemla Village People
The army of Nizam camp developed hatred towards inmates of Balemla (village) for not providing them any sort of entry. On 18th October 1946 at 4:00 A.M. Rajakars surrounded the village strategically to shoot the main leaders at site by searching into the streets. The inmates of Balemla grasped the mal intention of the Nizam Soldiers and decided to protect themselves and declared high alert among themselve
Leaders like Patel Matta Reddy, Garlapati Anantha Reddy took the lead and prevented the army from advancing. The soldiers of the army pointed the guns at the leaders but they were not frightened at all. This led to the this led to the face to face battle between the two groups and finally police managed to escape by shooting the people who come in their way.Nizam Police were very much frightened by large group of village people who were chasing them shouting slogans....
They started shooting recklessly and in the fire operation Patel Matta Reddy and Garlapati Anantha Reddy fell down and died on the spot. This incident enraged the village people more and they ran forward vigorously to hold the police force. Police started running away from the crowd in order to save their lives somehow with moving vehicles of the Army.
This incident shook the Nizam Ruler and the prince of Nizam himself entered the scene to mediate the issue which indicates the gravity of the situation. Nizam Prince visited the village and gave large amount of ex gratia to the deceased people by pouring the coins from their hand cups
I am a confident, Articulate and Multifaceted Politician who is well respected in and around my native district. I am brought up in a family of educated and politically conscious elders. Having graduated as an Engineer, I wanted to get into politics which is my ambition ever since I was a child.
Having come from a Politically Conscious family, I am always in the midst of people since almost 3 decades and actively fought for people’s cause always. I was particularly drawn to Congress Party triggered by changing landscape in Telangana after Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Amma ji announced Telangana State which is being looted currently by BRS Leaders. I remember the sacrifices made by Gandhi’s family and in spite of having potential chance to become Prime Minister of India, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi stayed away from it and played an instrumental role in the process of introducing major developmental changes.
Especially I am inspired by Youth Leader Rahul Gandhi ji and his commitment towards party and Nation and the way he united different cultures, traditions, people of different areas with BHARATH JODO yatra like how Mahatma Gandhi did with Dandi March and his vision towards development of Nation and I feel proud to join 138 years grand old Congress Party, believe that Unity Integrity of Nation is possible only with Congress Party under Rahul Gandhi Leadership.Development of Nation and Congress Party can’t be visualized independently and hence I want to be part of Congress party to visualize Golden Telangana which is possible only with Congress Party which gave birth to the state and fulfil the wishes of all brothers and sisters who laid their lives for this noble cause.
I feel it is my fortune to be a part of Historic and National Level Party especially during the revival phase of Party under the leadership of Youthful Leader, popular as fighter for people's cause, Revanth Reddy Garu under the supreme guidance of Rahul Gandhi ji.
